Terms of Service
Last updated: July 25, 2026
1. Who we are
Practicum ("Practicum," "we," "us," or "our") is operated by Tyler Sullivan, an individual sole trader. By creating an account or using Practicum, you are entering into an agreement with Tyler Sullivan. You can reach us at Practicum.AI.Training@gmail.com.
2. Acceptance of these terms
By creating an account, signing in, or continuing to use Practicum, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you don't agree, please don't use the app. You must be old enough to enter into a binding contract in your jurisdiction, and if you are using Practicum on behalf of an institution, you confirm you have authority to do so.
3. What Practicum is (and isn't)
Practicum is a voice-based simulated client training app designed for graduate counseling students. It lets you practice therapeutic technique with an AI "client," receive supervisor-style AI feedback, practice writing progress notes (SOAP/DAP), and track your progress with streaks, XP, and levels.
Practicum is not:
- therapy or mental health treatment;
- a substitute for clinical supervision from your graduate program or a licensed supervisor;
- a crisis, suicide-prevention, or emergency support service;
- a source of professional, medical, legal, or clinical advice.
AI-generated feedback is a practice aid — it can be wrong, incomplete, or biased. Always defer to your program, supervisors, and licensed professionals for real clinical decisions. If you are personally struggling, please seek real support.
4. Your account
You are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential and for everything that happens under your account. Please provide accurate information and keep it up to date.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use Practicum for anything unlawful, fraudulent, abusive, or harassing;
- use it to conduct or simulate sessions with real, identifiable clients, or upload real client information;
- infringe anyone's intellectual property or privacy rights;
- interfere with the service — no scraping, probing, reverse engineering, or introducing malware;
- resell, redistribute, or share your account with others;
- attempt to jailbreak or misuse the AI to produce harmful, illegal, or exploitative content.
6. Intellectual property
Practicum, including its software, design, branding, scenarios, and AI-generated feedback templates, is owned by us. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use Practicum for your own personal training and practice while your subscription or trial is active.
You retain ownership of the content you create in the app (your spoken responses, transcripts, and progress notes). You grant us a limited license to process that content solely to provide and improve the service to you.
7. Subscriptions, billing, and payment
Practicum offers Monthly, Semester (every 4 months), and Yearly subscription plans. Subscriptions auto-renew at the end of each billing period until you cancel.
Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns. Payment, billing, tax, cancellation, and refund mechanics are governed by Paddle's Buyer Terms.
8. Cancellations and refunds
You can cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellation stops future renewals — your access continues through the end of the billing period you've already paid for. See our Refund Policy for details.
9. AI content and accuracy
Practicum uses AI models to simulate client responses, score your sessions, and generate feedback. AI output can be inaccurate, inconsistent, or reflect biases. Nothing produced by the AI should be treated as professional clinical, medical, or legal advice. You are responsible for how you interpret and use it in your own training.
10. Service availability
We work to keep Practicum available and reliable, but we don't guarantee uninterrupted or error-free performance. We may update, change, or discontinue features at any time.
11. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate your access if you materially breach these terms, fail to pay, pose a security or fraud risk, or repeatedly or seriously violate our policies. You can stop using Practicum at any time by canceling your subscription and closing your account.
12. Disclaimers
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Practicum is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
13. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability arising out of or related to Practicum will not exceed the amount you paid us (via Paddle) in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim. We will not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or goodwill. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
14. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims arising out of your misuse of Practicum, your violation of these terms, or your violation of any law or third-party right.
15. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. If the changes are material, we'll let you know in the app or by email. Continued use of Practicum after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.
16. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction where the seller resides, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be resolved in the competent courts of that jurisdiction, unless otherwise required by law.
